First nun to perform Carnatic music concert

Sr LINNET Antony has become the first nun in Kerala to perform a Carnatic music concert. She belongs to the Society of Kristhudasis.

The music concert was inaugurated by Mar Jacob Thoomkuzhy. Superior General of Kristhudasis. Rev Sr Christena SKD presided.

Sr Linnet, daughter of Pulickal Antony and Annie Antony, joined the congregation of Society of Kristhudasis and took her first vow in 2001.

In 2008, she joined Chetana Music College and completed BA Music from Madras University with highest marks. She sang about 11 ragas, including mohanam, shahana, sangarabharanam and the concert last about one and a half hour.
